Ziemael in the attic
Ziemael spends its days wrestling neurological demons, and watching horror or X-files reruns. When able, with an imago that takes weeks or months to ready, it paints, usually briskly in a few hours, possibly a couple days. The paintings are professionally photographed, formatted for the printing company, then made available after the next print run.
Art Brut
Ziemael has had no formal training. It rejects tudorship, and fails at interactive learning. Self isolation, obsessive study, relentless experimentation revealed a pattern, every dozen failures or so brought a success. Starting in the 90’s with independent, many times under the table, stage designs for high schools, fairgrounds, ,advertisement art for phone books, product labels, some comic book ashcans, logo design and posters, GUI and banner work for websites. Hodge podging between jobs. In 2013 a paradigm shift had Zie show work at his first gallery. Disaterous, but a strange series of events led to vending and selling its art prints at comic book conventions, art shows, and even one of the top 10 Halloween spook attractions in the US. A pattern emerged. Anyway, Zie would rather not detail the wheres, whats, and whose as incrimination is not good for its art. So no CV for you. We don’t need any drumrolls.
