Are you the parent or legal guardian of a child on the Autism spectrum? If so, would you consider helping researchers answer some important questions about your experiences by filling out an online survey?
Researchers at Morehead State University in Kentucky are developing a questionnaire designed to assess how parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder respond to the challenges of raising a child with ASD. Parents at several autism treatment centers across the world are being asked to consider participating in this survey. Completing the survey may help researchers determine better ways of helping parents cope with the stress involved with raising children with ASD when they want help. The survey will be conducted at a secure website at the following internet address: www.surveymonkey.com/s/parentsmsu.You will remain anonymous throughout the entire process. During the survey, you will be asked various questions regarding degrees of stress and distress you may have experienced over the past month, and a number of questions asking you how you respond to distressing thoughts and feelings when they arise. The entire survey should take less than 30 minutes, and you will be asked to complete an additional online survey of less than five minutes one week later. If you are interested in participating, please go to the weblink listed above, where you can read more about the study and, if you choose, participate. If you have further questions, please feel free to email the principal investigator at jt.blackledge@moreheadstate.edu.
Thank you very much for considering participation in this study!
