Jacynthe (pronounced Ja-ssant) is in her late teens (2007). Her cognitive skills are developmentally delayed. She didn't learn to count to 100, ride a bike or run until she was 10 because it took that long, with much hard work and therapy, for both sides of her brain to co-ordinate.

Jacynthe joined ANCA in 2004 in Vancouver, BC. In the past year she has worked with ANCA’s adult ADSS program; providing interactive support from the autistic perspective and is learning to support members during the ANCA group program. Jacynthe participates in ANCA training workshops with professionals and parents, and provides insight as a speaker and role model as a young autistic adult.

Jacynthe enjoys working with horses, having won many awards for showmanship and riding, as well as her great enthusiasm for gymnastics and working with the young children in our program.

With the purchase of these cards, you are encouraging a young woman with autism living in a sheltered environment, who is actively exploring how she may become a productive member of society.
